My Prayer at Christmas Time |
LyricsIn these trying times, as we feel the costAnd our tired hearts cry out once more From within our depths comes an aching grief And it starts to wake us from our sleep As the voice that calls from deep within and whispers, "My Dear, we must begin" "Begin anew our search for love and truth" At Christmas Time It's a simple truth, it's a simple law That loving one another is certainly best of all Yes, it's time, it's time to seek The Friend Cause this chance may never come again The Light of Life is calling now The Love we cannot live without May we awaken to this Love That's my prayer at Christmas time May we all awaken to this Love That's my prayer That's my prayer at Christmas time |
Short Song Description: It's time to listen to our heart's need for love. |
Long Song Description: This world of ours is in such a state that the turmoil can awaken our sleeping hearts to a greater meaning, that of Pure, Never-ending Divine Love. |
Story Behind the Song: I originally wrote the melody for this tune in 2012 at the start of a recording session for another song. As I sat down at the piano for the recording, I felt that "there was a melody to be played", shall we say? This song is what happened but I had no words for the tune except "At Christmas time". Throughout the years until this past month I occasionally felt the urge to finish the song, but I always disregarded the promptings until the holiday season had passed. This year, the promptings were stronger and I relented and recorded the tune. The lyrics were written quickly and so I can now upload this song in time for Christmas. I am extremely pleased with it and I do hope you will be too! God Bless!!! |
